Hot Holiday Toy: Leap Frog Epic

“As a Leap Frog Mom Ambassador, I receive products, promotional items and educational material to use and share as I see fit. However, any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience.”

Happy November! It is time to get cracking on that holiday gift list! I am honored to have been selected as a member of the Leap Frog Mom Squad, since I get to share some seriously amazing gift ideas with you!

My October shipment from LeapFrog include the new Epic tablet… and the name really fits since this tablet is EPIC! The Epic is an android-based tablet that is programmed to grow with your child. It has a number of really amazing features that makes it the perfect gift!

Age Appropriate Apps:
The Epic has a huge selection of Leap Frog games & apps, as well as a number of Android apps that are educator-approved. You can unlock even more apps using parental controls, and there are NO in-app purchases or sketchy pop-up ads.

Customizable Home Screen:
The home screen is completely customizable… allowing your child to have fun (& learn! shh!) while creating their own one-of-a-kind tablet experience.

EPIC fun!

Here are a few other LeapFrog Epic features:

  •     7 inch touch screen with 1024×600 resolution
  •     Operating system based onAndroid™ 4.4
  •     1GB RAM Memory
  •     16GB Storage
  •     Micro SD Card Slot that is expandable up to 32MB
  •     Front and rear 2MP cameras
  •     Bluetooth 4.0
  •     Rechargeable lithium-ion battery
  •     Battery life is more than six hours, based on usage and settings.
  •     Micro USB port

I love this tablet since I have full control over everything that is downloaded and I know when they go on the internet, everything they find will be appropriate for them. I LOVE the fact that you can have different profiles, since my daughter is 2 and my son is 7. Now it is easy for my daughter to find all her games, without having to sift through my son’s apps… and vice-versa. I like how since it is a real tablet, LeapFrog is constantly updating it, offering new features and improving the Epic. For example, you can now load the amazon app store onto the Epic tablet, which opens up a ton more app options. Click here for full directions on how to do it!

My son loves this tablet since it is more like the grown-up version that mom & dad have. He also loves creating his own art and editing pictures on it. There is a section with kid safe YouTube videos, and he always finds something fun to watch on there!

So much fun!

Overall, I think this is an awesome tablet for kids. It is a great investment, since the Epic grows with your child, constantly offering new age appropriate games and apps. Be sure to check out LeapFrog’s website. They are also on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter!

It has a lot of the same stuff as the leap pad, but it can do lots of additional stuff. (esp with the amazon app store!)
