So you have a friend who has a blog. That’s awesome! There are tons of reasons why people create their own website. Even if you don’t entirely understand the reason for your friend’s blog.. there are simple things you can do to support them. My friends often have questions about my blog (which I totally don’t mind answering) and ask about ways they could help support me. These things won’t take up too much of your time, but it could make a huge difference for your blog-writing buddy.
6 ways to support your friend’s blog:Β
1. Follow them on social media: Many bloggers have social media accounts dedicated solely to their blogs. I have a Facebook page for Working Mom Magic, in addition to a Twitter, Instagram, Periscope and Pinterest account. By simply ‘liking’ my Facebook page, even if you don’t care what I am talking about on there, it helps people who DO care to see my posts. I won’t bore you with Facebook algorithms, but the extra ‘like’ helps to get that page seen by others. So even if you hate all other forms of social media… one “like” on Facebook can go a long way.
2. Share their stuff: If you notice your friend is linking up to one of their blog posts on social media and it is something you can relate to, or think your followers may be interested in… then share it! By sharing your friend’s post, you are exposing them to an entirely new audience, potentially bringing them new followers.
3. Vote for them: I am a part of something called Top Mommy Blogs, and when you click the button on that page it helps rank me on website full of other (you guessed it) mommy blogs. If you are my friend, and visit my blog you better click that darn button, which counts as a “vote” for me. It takes you 20 seconds, tops… but it makes a huge difference for me. Brands and businesses use sites like “Top Mommy Blogs” to find influencers to spread the word about their product. Influencers that they will then PAY to write about said products. So being ranked makes a difference. (AKA: Click the button and maybe you will help me make some extra money) There are a variety of “vote” buttons that bloggers use… so if you see one on a friends blog, do them a huge favor and vote.

4. Name drop: Tell people about your friends blog. If parenting comes up in a conversation, my best friends waste no time throwing out Working Mom Magic. “Oh.. my friend has a mommy blog.. you should check it out!” Many people find out about blogs by word of mouth… so if the opportunity arises, speak up and share your friend’s blog!
5. Give them ideas: At this point, most all of my friends know about my blog and the topics I tend to write about. I love it when they text me articles they think I should explore myself or send me pictures of crafty ideas they see while out and about. I have gotten tons of amazing ideas from my friends that have turned into fabulous blog posts.
6. Read their blog: Nothing beats the feeling than when a friend tells me they loved one of my blog posts, or that they tried the recipe that I posted. Maybe a Facebook article I shared made them smile. I have had friends I grew up with email me or private message me simply to tell me that they enjoy reading my blog. I can’t even tell you how much that makes my day.
I have a blog since it makes me happy. I love to write and I enjoy helping other women & moms by giving them options to help simplify their busy life. But, there’s no denying that putting yourself out there in a blog can be scary sometimes, and a little intimidating. That’s when support from our friends and family make all the difference… and bloggers, like me, sure do appreciate it.
I love all of this! Especially number 6, I love it when people tell me they are actually paying attention to what I write!
I know! Esp since my two best friends dont have kids yet, so I am always super flattered when they mention something from a post!
Junito Conga God bless all his children and family to never abandon them to destruction unconditionally my heart is very much in pain as a father I know this should not be God bless all his children forever π making them stronger and understand God’s word and to believe God’s is the way and turn away from destruction ππhttps://gofund.me/155f6769
Yes, great post! I'm always a little surprised — and super happy — when a non-blogger friend comments in person about a blog post I wrote. They don't usually comment on the blog so I don't know they've read it, so it it's a nice surprise!
I totally agree! Such a nice surprise!
This is a great list! My friends and family are often asking me what they can do to support me too. I don't think I know anybody in RL that's on Twitter, but they're all on FB and IG!
Yes my good friend was like, "I had no idea you had a facebook for your blog!" ha!
These were awesome tips
Thank you so much.. and thanks for stopping by! π
No truer words ever spoken!!!! I agree with all of these!!!
right?! Non bloggy friends need to step it up! ha!

I love this! Definitely sharing!
Thank you so much! I hope you are having a great week!
No truer words have been spoken. With the crazy facebook algorithm, people dont realize how helpful it is when they like, comment, and share bloggers' work. (And I appreciate all the feedback you have given to me, as another blogger- and I've been working to up my Pinterest game, so thanks for that!) Have a great weekend, Lauren. xo
I know, and I know my friends want to help, but they just weren't really sure how to! π Pin it up lady!
This is AWESOME- Thanks for sharing these great tips. It's so important to support each other…
I totally agree! Nothing better than a supportive group! π
These are all great tips… I will be sharing! I really wish more people knew just how easy it is to support other bloggers! Thank you for putting this together!!!
My friends were so surprised after reading this post.. they were like, "Some of these are so easy!"
I love these ideas. I'm definitely sharing with my friends. I clicked on your button so I hope it helps! Thanks for all the great ideas.
Chris
haha thank you Chris.. it def helps! Have a wonderful week!
I used to think I shouldn't mention these tips to my readers because they already knew all of them. Um, no! Thanks for the reminders of ways to help our blogging buddies. I'll pass it along to my readers as well.
It is common stuff for bloggers, but my non blogging friends were totally floored when I told them this stuff.. so I wrote it up!
Love all of these tips! (and voted for you as a Top Mommy Blog) Keep up the excellent work! π
Thanks for the vote! I hope you have a wonderful week! π
Wonderful advice! I don't like to bombard my friends with my blog stuff, but it's nice if they like and share things. I have also been meaning to write on your social media post. Thank you! I had been scheduling a lot of stuff and started sharing more things live and it's really helped in the past few days.
That is awesome to hear that the post is helping! yes viral stuff is the way to go, esp on facebook! π
I love when my friends genuinely share my blog. I love when they connect to something and share it.
It feels great, right? Thanks for stopping over!
This is a lovely post Lauren! All of it so true….I have made so many friends in the blogging world. Some days I want to quit…as it is soo tiring along with a full time job …and you are in the same boat! But….the kind words and sharing is what keeps me going!!
Have a nice weekend!
xo
I hear ya! But I love my blog so much, it doesnt stress me out too often.. ha! π
This is incredible. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. I'm sharing this with the world. Thank you.
Seems so obvious, but my non blogging friends were surprised to hear all of them! π
totally agree. such a great post. i'm glad you thought of it! i know… not many of my friends seem to care too much about my blog and sometimes it makes me kind of sad… π
Love this! I have a lot of friends who don't really understand what blogging really means. Sharing!
I am going to share this with my friends and maybe they will get with the program and help me grow my domain.
Great post! I have a few friends in the blogging world and will definitely implement these when it comes to their blogs!
I saw Kate already commented above… See we both love ya ? These are all great tips. I always vote TMB for you too.
I'm definitely sharing this on social media because a few of my friends have missed these memos LOL. They are in no way required to support but a share every now and then would be appreciated.
All the Best,

I love this list! I shared it on my wall, and gave all my friends a warning π
This is great! I am going to share this! I used to have friends read my blog but they slowly fell off. Hopefully it will maybe trigger their support again!
Can I hug you for writing this? Please?!? This post ranks as one of my favourites of yours (along with your advice to a new blogger, teachers want you to know, all of your family faves, and 5 min CAKE POPS, oh ya and the DIY toy eyeshadow… I'll stop listing posts now). LOVE this post. Stumbled. Will share all over facebook too.
Great post! Supportive family and friends is extremely important to get your online brand name out there!
Seems so simple right?! But so many people don't know this stuff. Thanks for sharing.
These are all great ideas to helping support your friends.
Support is so essential π
xoxo, Jenny
This is a great list! I love having other bloggers read my blog, but I also love having people I actually know in my hometown read my blog as well. It's nice to know that other people out there support you in what you are doing, so it's definitely appreciated when they do the things you wrote about. Thanks for sharing!
I love this post, Lauren! As a new blogger, this info is invaluable. I'm a little hesitant to share, but I'm going to do share anyway, because it's all SO TRUE. Thanks for putting into (perfect) words what I didn't even fully understand myself.
Great tips, Lauren! I love when someone tells me they can relate to a post or compliments me on something I've shared – it's such a nice feeling! Friends supporting friends is key, I try to support via blogs and social media often!
So great! Love these tips. I need to just share this on my page!
These are so good, I find family and friends are very supportive. Now if only bloggers would also be kind and supportive of one another.
agreed Tamara!
Great ideas! A lot of my friends don't understand the whole blogging concept and don't know exactly how to support my blog either. I think this is also a great list of tips for fellow bloggers to support each other as well. Thanks for sharing!
This is great advice. I appreciate support from my friends and family.
Hehehe it's crazy how so many non bloggy people are clueless on how much a simple like on our pages can go along way! Most people think if they follow you on Twitter then they are good… Or subscribed to your blog… That's all…. Ughhh lol… Glad they support but with they would follow everywhere lol
Excellent tips…you really have a handle on this stuff!!! π
Seems simple but I find a lot of my friends don't do any of these things! I have a REALLY supportive group of friends, family and even strangers, but it does hurt when you have close friends who never read your stuff. I had a close friend tell me once "I just dont have time to read it" and it felt like an excuse to me. It is what is is; you can't expect everyone you know to be supportive, but I feel like if my close friend had some kind of business, hobby or website, I'd support no matter what. Great post!
agreed Ali !!
Great tips. I know a few bloggers who need to read this to learn a thing or two. lol. Seriously, thanks for always sharing. It's amazing to see you grow as a blogger. Well done.
Great tips!
These tips are so practical and thoughtful – such an easy way to show support for a friendβs hard work! Reading and engaging through blog commenting is such a meaningful way to show you care. Thanks for highlighting how simple it is to help a blogger thrive!
