May 2016 Stitch Fix Review

May Stitch Fix Review

It’s time for my May Stitch Fix review! It has been a few months since I have done a Stitch Fix post, since I took off from posting for a bit while I was updating my website. I have still been getting boxes and I am still seriously obsessed with the service. My stylist, Layla, is my new best friend even though I have never met her or spoke to her in person… but she sends me the sweetest notes in my fix so I am pretty sure she feels the same way. πŸ˜‰ Β I started to get very specific with what I wanted and she did comply, but I found she actually selected things I liked more than the items I thought I wanted. Last month, I got an adorable outfit that I would have never even tried on otherwise. (my husband LOVES when I try everything on, since he says it is fun to see me in different types of clothes than what I normally wear… and he also likes making fun of me in the stuff that he thinks is crazy. I still love him though, almost as much as I love Layla)

Stitch Fix Review

My Stitch Fix outfit I got last month… so cute!! (the top is by Skies are Blue and the jeans are Mavi)

I have recently started ‘peeking’ in on my fixes, since there is a way you can kind of cheat and see what you are getting before it actually arrives. The fabulous girls over on the Stitch Fix boards taught me that. If you have the Stitch Fix app (I think this feature only works on the iPhone version) when it says your item has shipped you can click the ‘checkout’ button and scroll through what you got. Then just click the back button and it won’t charge you or anything like that. I always say I am NOT going to peek since part of the fun is opening the box and having no idea what is inside, but now that I have learned this trick I simply do not have the willpower to wait.

Here’s what I got this month!

Daniel Rainn Sheera Split Neck Knit Top
I usually love tops like this, but I wasn’t crazy about this one. It was fine, but nothing special. It fit great though and I liked the fabric.
May Stitch Fix

I call this my “I feel so awkward standing here while my husband takes my picture” face. #nailedit

OneMarket Kortney Knit Maxi Dress
I love black and I love maxi dresses so I thought this would be a win. But the top was a little too big and combine that with the holes along the neckline, and I was set up to easily flash people. Not the look I usually go for. This dress was so soft and really long which I loved, since I sometimes have trouble finding maxis that are long enough for me.
May Stitch Fix

My sweet girl always there to help me out!

Maggy London Patrisha V-neck dress
I am normally anti-color and anti-pattern, so I was REALLY surprised when I was actually excited to see this in my peek. I really liked the style and look of this dress, but when I tried it on it just felt SO different for me. I knew I would never wear it. I posted my try-on pictures on my favorite Stitch Fix facebook page and this dress was a huge hit. I almost considered keeping it, which is why that page can mess with your mind a little bit. I suck at fashion, and all the girls on the board loved it and were very complimentary, which is so nice and I totally appreciate their opinions. I thought,Β maybe I SHOULD keep this $100 dress that I will never wear. I mean, it did have pockets, which is awesome. I slept on it… came to my senses and sent it back.
May Stitch Fix
THML Chana Embroidered Dress
I was also really excited to see this one and even more excited when I tried it on! This is the perfect summer dress and different than anything else I have in my closet. So cute. Definite keeper.
May Stitch Fix

LOVE this dress!

Sol Sana Tobi Fringe Heel
SHOES! I was so excited since this was my first pair of shoes sent to me in a fix.Β They were love at first sight, however they didn’t get along with my feet. They were somehow loose and tight at the same time. Boo. Sent back.
May Stitch Fix
So this month I kept one dress, which is awesome since I LOVE LOVE it. I know some Stitch Fix gals who hope for a 5 for 5 every month, but I am honestly good with finding just a few good picks at a time. (my bank account prefers this as well) If you want to give Stitch Fix a try I would love it if you used my affiliate link!

That Daniel Rainn Sheera Split Neck Knit Top looks great on you! I always feel like Daniel Rainn is too boxy for me, so see why you may not have kept it.

I’ve tried stitch fix too and usually love it, but wasn’t super impressed with my most recent one either. Love the dress you chose to keep & either way it’s hand picked & shipped to you, so always fun to try!

It made a huge difference once I found a stylist who listened to me.. I asked if I could get her every time and each fix gets better and better.. since she is starting to ‘get’ my style

I got that top in my fix, and loved it (especially the detailing on the black fabric). You look great in all of your items – – sometimes you just can’t keep them all!

Do you have a pinterest fashion board for your stylist to look at? That helped me a lot and now that I have a stylist I love I request her every time. My sister in law hasnt had any luck either.. but she keeps trying since I am so obsessed and I keep telling her she just needs the right person!

I love Stitch Fix! I get clients all the time that need to adjust the fit on items they receive thru the mail which is perfectly normal since you are not there to try it on. Most of the time it’s the length adjustment. For the messages I get online I direct them to http://www.peanutsnthread.com so many helpful tips and tutorials on how to do it your self. It’s super way.

I’ve been always wanting to try stitch fix, but I’m super lazy about returning things so I feel like I would probably end up keeping everything every time. With that being said, I LOVE that dress you sent back! Haha I think it looks great on you too. I do like a lot of the other items too. The first shirt is really cute too!
