Best Concealers for Dark Under Eye Circles

I have had dark under eye circles for as long as I can remember. However, after 36 years I am pretty darn good at covering them up. Since I have had no choice but to deal with them, I have tried almost every type of under eye concealer out there. No joke. Whenever I see a recommendation or a good review on a heavy-duty concealer, I buy it. I can’t even list all the concealers I have purchased. After lots of trial and error, I decided to share my all-time favorites, for my fellow dark circle gals!

NYX Orange Concealer: I have talked about this concealer before and it is still one of my go-to products. Most makeup artists will tell you to offset dark circles, you should use a orangy-red base. Now this concealer is a bit tricky to apply because it has a drier consistency, but it blends wonderfully under concealers without streaking. I have purchased MANY orange-toned concealers, some of which were really expensive, but this one works the best. I only use it when I am going out or for full-makeup looks, since it isn’t worth the extra blending effort to me for daily use.

Graftobian Soft Orange Concealer: I use this every single day. It is a much more subtle orange, but still does a awesome job cutting down on blue tones. I also LOVE the consistency. It is creamy and glides right on the delicate under-eye area.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser: I have been hooked on this concealer for awhile now since it is just SO GOOD! I love the applicator and the consistency. It blends just like a sheer concealer, but with serious coverage. I use this alone on the weekends (no orange base) and it does a great job toning down my circles. I have the medium and the light shade. The medium is my go to, and sometimes I mix them or use the light color on top when I feel I need more ‘brightening’ under the eye.

Hard Candy Glamoflage: I decided to try this a few months ago, after I saw a number of beauty bloggers raving about it. (I told you, I am ALWAYS looking for good concealers!) This is my new favorite. It gives SERIOUS coverage and it blends beautifully. I love this stuff. I can’t believe it is only 6 bucks.

Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Cameo: I bought this in the more yellow ‘Banana’ color after I read somewhere that Kim Kardashian used it. (I know, I know… but her skin always looks good!) I am pretty olive toned, but it was still too yellow for me. The powder itself was so fine and silky smooth, that I tried another color. I got Cameo which is the perfect setting powder for under my eyes. I have a number of cheaper translucent powders, but this one is worth it for the under eye area. It really prevents creasing, which I need since I layer on so many different types of concealer.

Sigma P82 Concealer Brush: This is the BEST brush out there to apply cream concealer under eyes. It perfectly applies the product, but it doesn’t pull or tug on the delicate eye area. I saw this on a ton of YouTube videos and it is amazing. It is also really easy to clean and has held up perfectly in the 3 years I’ve had it.

ELF Small Stipple Brush: I use this to also blend concealer. It has the lightest touch and works great for gently blending in the different concealers I apply.

There you go… my laundry list of must-have products for people with serious dark under eye circles. (aka: my people) I always start with one of the orange-based options applied with the Sigma brush, then layer Glamoflage on top and blend with the ELF brush, and sometimes I throw the Instant Age Eraser on top, too. I top it off with the Ben Nye powder. Obviously, products work differently on everyone, but I have tried A LOT of heavy duty concealers and these are really working well for me right now. I would love to hear about your favorite concealers!

I, too, have been fighting dark circles for many years, and I absolutely have tried tons of different concealers! Just recently, I learned, from a YouTube video, that using a red lipstick as a color corrector would allow the concealer to cover a lot better, and to my surprise, it really works! One of my favorite concealers is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind, because it really lasts a long time

First of all, I love your blog look! You are on point. Second, I need to try one of these. I’ve got some serious dark circles and I don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to concealer. The Maybelline applicator looks like it would be right up my alley.

I had to get serious with my under eye concealer techniques in college, when I realized that not EVERYONE had really dark circles. They suck.

It def cancels out all blue undertones, but you need a really think concealer over it so you dont see any orange.

Great picks! I always wear concealer, even if I’m not doing a full face of make-up, brightening the eyes is just the fastest and easiest way to make yourself look a little more put together! <3

I’m actually a huge fan of a lot of the hard candy products! They are supremely pretty good concise ring how cheap they are.

I’ll have to look at some of these. I have circles, too, but most of the stuff I’ve tried is too “white” and makes me look racoony.

Thanks for this great round-up. I agree the Maybelline works great (the only one I’ve tried from this list), but my personal favorites are It Cosmetics Bye-Bye Undereye and Mary Kay concealers.

I just bought TWO of the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealers…the neutralizer (I have hereditary dark circles that nothing works on!) and the shade for my skin. It’s the best I’ve tried so far but can still see my circles a little. I def want to try the NYX soon…I’ve heard great things!
