Books my Kids are Loving in November

working mom magic

I recently had a parent/teacher conference and I was so happy to hear that Hudson is an excellent reader. She asked if we read together often and was not at all surprised by my answer! His new favorite thing is reading to Mila and since she loves ANY kind of attention from her big brother she is always game to sit with him. She listens to every word so intently when he is reading, it is the cutest thing!

So here are the books my kids are loving this month:

Hudson
ScribbleNauts Workbook:
We have been cleaning out our attic and Hudson found this book in a box. It is based on a video game, from what I have found. However, he loves reading through it and there are a lot of blank pages with scribble activities. He brings this to school every day. (along with last month’s Ninjago book… that is still a favorite)

She can’t leave her big brother alone

Tigers:
This is a National Geographic kids book that I got as part of a bundle through a Zulily sale forever ago. He loves all the books we got, but he decided to base his October book report on this one. He had to write up a book report and even create a Tiger pumpkin, which I realized as I was writing this that I never took a picture of. Oops. However, I did take pictures of the cover page he drew, which I thought was SO good! All these books are great and full of facts, and the pictures are beautiful.

I loved this drawing and I was bummed he had to turn it in.

Mila
Peppa Pig Muddy Puddles:
Recently the phenomenon known as Peppa Pig made its way into our household. I can’t tell you how many drives to school involve Mila & Hudson repeating, “Dinosaur… rawwwrrr” I got this book on Amazon and the kids were both thrilled about it. Mila likes it the most, especially since she gets to say ‘muddy puddles’ in her best English accent.

Frozen Story Collection:
We got this during Hudson’s school book fair last month. It has 5 stories in it and she loves every one. It’s been more than a year since her whole Frozen obsession started and it is not showing any signs of fizzing out. I think this is a great bundle for the price since all the stories are cute and have great illustrations.

Those are our books for the month! What is your family reading right now?

I just posted a blog on young adult reads! Unfortunately, I'm not very up to date on young kid reads, but these look adorable! I'm an adult but I still love frozen!

I still love Frozen too! Sometimes I keep the soundtrack on for the ride to work after I dropped my daughter off! It makes me happy! 🙂

That tiger picture is awesome!!! You should try to get it back and frame it!
I have recently become aware of a book called Ninja Farts… I ordered it from Barnes and Noble and am waiting for it to come in. I have a feeling my son is going to LOVE it!

My daughter would love the Frozen book. My son is also a huge book lover. I just got him a new copy of Shel Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends, and he absolutely loves it. Funny how some things never go out of style!

I still have MY old Shel Silverstein books! (where the sidewalk ends and a light in the attic!) I recently gave them to my son, but I always forget to read them!

I agree reading with your kids is so important. These are fun suggestions. My six year old is loving the princess in black and the Magic Tree House series right now. 🙂
