We have some awesome new books this month, thanks to the book fair! My daughter and my son’s school both hold book fairs, so there was plenty of options for us to choose from. I know I have talked about this before, but I LOVE THE BOOK FAIR! My son’s school has them a few times a year, and we always go to family night. They have pizza and dessert in the cafeteria (sometimes they even get food trucks) there are local vendors handing out fun stuff and of course, a library full of BOOKS! I loved the book fair as a kid and I really look forward to attending them now with my kids.
He totally bought this book just to get the little Ninjago figurine attached to the book. However, he ended up losing it (in like 5 minutes) and then realized he actually really likes the book. He has been bringing it to school everyday to read with his friends.
Mila:
Doc McStuffins Pet Vet
My sweet girl loves DocMcStuffins (I have seen the Halloween Hallie episode about 54 times already) and she is obsessed with giving everyone “check ups” with her Doc kit. So when the “Pet Vet” series started, she was VERY excited. It is the story about a toy dog that loses its ability to fetch the proper toy. Of course, Doc fixes him… while explaining that since he is a dog it is a vet’s job to figure out what is wrong even though he can’t talk. (which is strange to me since she has a talking hippo, lamb and dragon counterpart… but whateves)
Mila enjoys these cartoon shorts, but has never been super into them… until she spotted this book at the book fair. It is cute since it has a page for each character, explaining more about them. She enjoys reading this book alone since there are so many pictures, and we can also read it together.

The best pet vet around! |
So what books are you into right now? We are always looking for some new ones… any holiday or Thanksgiving favorites?
I'm a children's librarian and we have most of these – they've been super popular! The only one we don't have is the Palace Pets handbook – the chapter books are popular so I may have to purchase this one!
What a awesome job! We love going to the library!
My daughter is still obsessed with Disney princesses. Right now in particular, it's Snow White, so ANY book that involves her.
My daughter is all Elsa… all the time. I am ready for her to move on. haha
The book fair sounds awesome! I used to love book week at school. Oh, and book club where you ordered your books from a leaflet. Books are awesome!
I am just so glad they still have them! It is one of the few things I did as a kid that my children still do as well!
Don't get me started on the flipping palace pets! LOL I'm going to rant about it next week, but we are liking that handbook too!
Hahaha I am lucky since she is not really into the actual toys yet.. I can't wait to read your post!
The bunny pics and your girl are just adorable! I am in Minecraft mania everyday..ha I work in an elem school and that's all the kids talk about!
Yes I dont even understand how the game works, I just know my son is obsessed!
When Sammie was little loved Minecraft. She also had some pet hospital toys and house. How adorable.
Thank you! I hope you are having a great week! ๐
My kids are def showing favoritism toward their TV Show related books. We got this giant Paw Patrol one where they point out/find stuff in the pictures…and Elmo Goes to School flap book is the other one in heavy rotation.
I will have to check out Elmo goes to school, Mila loves Elmo books!
i like whatever's in our library right now! ๐
haha Yes we are due for a library trip!
Oh man…my students are obsessed with mine craft!! And they're quite a bit older! It's like the pokemon of this generation!
My son likes Pokemon too! hahaha… so it is still around!
I've always said, if there's something I don't mind spending money on for my kids.. It's books!
We splurge big on books…thank you for all these suggestions, Lauren!
Yes we have a lot of books, but they can share them too so I feel like it is worth it. ๐
Caleb is into anything and everything that has trucks on it. I had no idea I would spend so much of my life looking at trucks His favorite book right now is called, "Playtown" and we don't even read it. He just has me point to the trucks and he tells me what they're called (Digger, Mail Truck, Bus, etc.). It is oh so much fun. I am looking forward to book fairs, though! I just hope he continues to get this excited about books as he gets older.
Hudson used to love those books! we had entire books just about the different types of cars, etc.
My youngest is ALL about Doc McStuffins and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She enjoys both, and honestly I think they are great shows (even though I am TOTALLY with you on the whole the lamb, the dragon, and the hippo can talk, but a dog can't??? whole thing). I'll have to check into these books for the littlest. My older one would LOVE the Ninjago, but I still think she's a bit young to understand it all ๐ Thanks for sharing ๐
I enjoy those shows too! haha We sing all the doc songs randomly throughout the day.. "Hey.. tell me whats wrong…"
My daughter loves all the Little People books. The ones with the little flaps ๐ They usually have them at TJ Maxx and the ones for whatever holiday it is!
My daughter loves those too! (but she rips off ALL the flaps!!)
