January Stitch Fix Review

I have heard bloggers & friends talking about Stitch Fix forever. I knew it was a clothing delivery service where they send you items selected by a “stylist” and then you keep what you like and send back what you don’t. To be honest, I had ZERO interest in trying this out. When it comes to my clothes I am super boring and basic. When I find a pair of pants or jeans I love, I buy 4 pairs. When I find a top I like I buy it in every color. (as long as that “color” is black, white, navy or grey) Also, I am really picky. It is hard to find clothes that fit me properly or are long enough since I am tall.

As you know, my big mantra for the new year is #MoreMEin2016. So when the woman from Stitch Fix emailed me, I decided NOT to immediately delete it. I never had time to shop for myself, and I did want to try to step up my style, at least a little bit. Since it wouldn’t cost me anything to give it a try, I figured I had nothing to lose.

I got my first ‘fix’ at the beginning of December and did a periscope about it. There were a few items I immediately liked and others I didn’t. I was so busy that I didn’t take pictures or anything. I was shocked to find that everything fit… and I really liked 3 out of the 5 items. (I ended up keeping 2) One of the dresses that I didn’t like AT ALL when I saw it, actually looked so nice on that I decided to keep it.

I was really looking forward to this month’s fix, but it was kind of a disappointment. I really liked one top, but the rest just wasn’t for me.

All the items I passed on, the top I kept is in the first picture.

I am going to continue using this service, since I they do a pretty good job selecting items that I would like and everything they have sent has fit so far. To be honest, it is also really fun getting a box full of clothes in the mail, especially since I never have time to go to the mall. It is a nice treat. Also, my friends have told me that the longer you use the service the better they get to know you and your style, and the better your deliveries. I updated my “mommy style” board on Pinterest, so that should help my stylist. I’ll keep you posted! In the meantime, if you want to try StitchFix for yourself, here’s my referral link!

Have you ever used Stitch Fix? What did you think?

This seems like a great service. The outfits are really cute. I don't buy many clothes online because I like to go to the stores and try them on. I am glad this works for you.

I do most of my shopping online, since I never have time to get to stores, but I usually order from the same 2 or 3 places since I know what fits me. I am VERY surprised that everything they have sent me has fit!

Stitch Fix has been everywhere lately! It sounds like so much fun! I love the top you're wearing in the pic! I'm so curious what they would pick out for me. I tend to be pretty boring!!

I am so boring too!! My survey was like, "I hate colors, I hate prints, I hate trendy things" haha My first box was really good, I was so surprised, I should have take pics of that one, but I was crazy busy

I am super thrifty, so I know most of the SF items wouldn't be keepers for me… BUT when I worked for this big agency, I would see all the packages come through and have to email people to pick them up. Whenever there was a SF I would make the person open it at my desk so I could see everything – haha! Like a little fashion show at work!

They ARE expensive, not gonna lie, esp since I usually spend less than 20 for a shirt, but I really need new clothes so if I love the item I am willing to treat myself (for now)

I have that cardigan in a coral color and I'm actually wearing it right now! It's one of my favorite items I've ever gotten in a fix.

I really debated on keeping that one, it was the perfect fit and so lightweight, perfect for work.. but in the end I sent it back.

I have seen this service floating around, and wondered if it was worthwhile. I am pretty picky so I am not sure if this would work for me. You however look super-cute!

I am very picky too, but I think this is a good way to expand my style so I try to have an open mind. I am such a boring dresser… so this is a fun way to get me to try things I would never usually pick up in a store.

A good friend of mine recently was telling me to start something like this up as a business and was convinced there is nothing out there already! I told her there was so will be sure to show her this. It does look good especially for those who don't have time to shop x

I love to shop too, but I never have time! ha! Also, the older I get, the more boring my style has become, so this is a fun way to switch up my normal looks.

I've never used StitchFix for myself but I really enjoy reading other people's reviews of the service. I just love shopping too much, I think the service would just enable my addiction, hehe.

Thats what everyone keeps telling me.. and I am trying to do better at sharing my style, which is why I updated my pinterest page. I am going to give them at least a chance.. I mean 3 items in 2 fixes is really good, I think!

Great post! Yes, I'd feel the same way… I am sooo picky about my clothes. To the point where my family wont even try to buy me clothes. I just have a very specific style that they don't always have an eye for. Maybe this program would though… sounds neat. A bit scary but could go either way 🙂

I have been doing Stitch Fix for about a year. I don't get the boxes that often anymore and I suspended myself from boxes for most of the fall. Overall good, although I had to beat it into my stylist that IT. DOES. NOT. GET. COLD. IN. SOUTH. TEXAS. Maybe I will get brave enough to review my box and take pictures next time. I see a lot of bloggers doing that and I kind of want to, but I'm so camera shy/self conscious.

Yes they sent me sweaters in both boxes.. I'm like, "Hello.. South Florida over here!" ha! I didnt take pics in the stuff I didnt keep since I just think that is strange, and I feel uncomfortable with fashiony pics too.

I started using Stitch Fix when I was pregnant and they did an AMAZING job of sending me clothes that fit my belly but I COULD WEAR AFTER I HAD THE BABY! I continued with my monthly fix post baby and things started getting weird. I would say NO PATTERNS and get ALL PATTERNS. The clothes always fit, but they completely deviated from my style. I should have asked for a different stylist, but I got lazy and just stopped altogether….before I had a closet full of patterns…
