Acupressure Mat: Do You Need One?

acupressure mat

Every time I post a picture of my acupressure mat on my insta-stories I get a bunch of questions so I figured a blog post was due. I will share everything I know about acupressure mats so you can decide if you need one. (spoiler alert: you probably do!) A friend of mine suggested I get one of these mats to help with back pain. Ever since having kids, I have had lower back pain on and off. For awhile it was so bad that I had to see a chiropractor a few times a week for months at a time. My back pain has been much better, especially since I cut sugar out of my diet. But every once in awhile the pain will come back if I workout a lot, sleep wrong or sit at my desk too much. (another reason why I love my standup desk)

I had this mat on my Amazon wish list forever, until one day I decided to give it a try. It is a lightweight foam mat with plastic points that are no joke. The mat is supposed to help stimulate acupressure points on your body while also increasing blood flow to the area. I was already a fan of acupuncture since I did that for months when I was trying to get pregnant with my second child. (I have actually been meaning to go back, not to get pregnant again, but since it is a nice addition to my wellness routine)

Back to the mat, I suggest wearing a shirt the first time you lie on it, since it hurts. For the first few times I could only lie on it for a minute or less. Now I have found ways to breathe through the initial discomfort and can chill on the mat for a few minutes. Many people like to use this before bed, but I really prefer to use it after a workout or in the morning. It is supposed to be relaxing, but I find it really energizing so that’s what works for me. If I wake up and my back feels a tight or sore, this helps it immediately.

One day I plan to upgrade to the Pranamat, which is the real deal. I would love to see and feel the difference, since it costs a lot more! If you have had the chance to try both of these mats, I would love to hear about it the comments section since I am super curious. There you go… everything you need to know about the crazy spiky mat you are always seeing on my insta-stories! 😉

I didn’t know these existed but I already feel like I need one in my life! Might do some normal acupuncture first though, before buying an actual mat…

I’m so intrigued by this! It does seem like it would be painful at first but I can also see how relieving it would feel too.

In today’s highly globalized educational environment, an increasing number of students opt for international education. However, the life of international students is not all about beautiful landscapes and enjoyable interactions; they also face the pressure of academic paper assignments http://www.12y.org/services/

Thanks to the killer papers review now, I know they are capable of. Literally nothing. Their support is so poor and useless I wouldn’t recommend them

I just finished reading the article on workingmommagic.com about acupressure mats, and it was incredibly informative! The personal experience shared by the author made the benefits of using an acupressure mat really relatable, especially for busy moms looking for effective ways to relax and relieve stress. I appreciated the honest review, including both the initial discomfort and the eventual positive effects. The practical advice on incorporating the mat into a daily routine was very helpful. This article has definitely convinced me to give an acupressure mat a try. Thanks for sharing such a detailed and honest perspective!
