One of my main goals this year is to take care of myself, especially my health. After having kids and working non-stop, I realized last year that I couldn’t remember the last time I had gone to the doctor for a checkup. And it freaked me out. So I made a commitment to get ALL my health checks in order. During the year, I got a checkup, had blood work done, got my heart checked (I have an irregular heartbeat), had my first mammogram and even got a colonoscopy. (which is early based on my age, but my dad died of colon cancer so the specialist recommended it)
Now after getting a clean bill of health, I am committed to keeping it that way. Which is why I try to eat healthy, keep my stress levels low and exercise. However, I am a busy lady. I have two kids, a full-time job and a household to manage, so even though I have the best intentions… sometimes I can’t make it all happen. Unfortunately, the first place I start slacking is in the workout department. Which is why I enlisted some high tech help: the Nokia Steel HR.
The Nokia Steel HR is an activity tracker that does so much more than simply track my steps. It assesses my overall fitness performance and goals, giving me easy-to-read results using the free Health Mate app. It also has a ton of amazing features:
- Tracks your steps
- Tracks your average heart rate throughout the day and while you sleep
- Ability to track continuous heart rate data during workouts
- Sleep tracker ( I LOVE this feature since I have been trying to get more quality sleep)
- Long lasting battery life of up to 25 days and comes with a USB charger
- Water resistant up to 50 meters (you can wear it in the shower, pool and while bathing your little ones!)
- For workouts it can detect and learn 10 different activities
- Receive notifications for text messages, calls and events (I use it for texts and it is SO handy)

I love the sleep tracking feature!
Having all this information on hand is really helpful, especially when it comes to keeping my fitness goals. I am motivated to move more and go to bed earlier since I know those stats will be waiting for me! Now when my kids ask to go to the park, I am more likely to suggest we walk or bike there instead of hopping in the car. I have been waking up early to get some time on the elliptical. Seeing those numbers, especially the steps, pushes me to be more aware of getting more activity in each day and I have made some healthful changes because of the Nokia Steel HR.

Love getting outside with the kids and tracking my activities!

Oooh thanks for the review! I’ve been considering an activity/sleep tracker and really like the look of this one!

It’s incredibly inspiring to read about your commitment to prioritizing your health, especially after learning about the importance of regular checkups. Also, here https://paperwriter.com/blog/dissertation-outline I learned how to write a dissertation outline. Your proactive approach to getting all your medical check-ups despite your busy schedule shows a deep commitment to your well-being. It is commendable that you have taken preventive measures, given your family history of colon cancer, and are getting tests such as colonoscopy earlier than usual.
