5 Tips to Help You Feel Inspired

We are approaching the end of 2017. Now is the time to start thinking about what makes you happy and set some goals for 2018. If you are in a funk or lacking inspiration, you are not alone. The end of the year is a busy time for everyone, but I have some easy tips and tricks to help you feel inspired again.

5 Tips to Help You Feel Inspired

Read: If you guys know me at all, you know I am a HUGE lover of self-help books. If I need some motivation I just do a quick google search or head to Amazon and type in what I need. If I am feeling overwhelmed, I will read a time management book. If I need some writing mojo, I will read something related to blogging or entrepreneurship. Don’t underestimate the power of a good motivational read!

Magazines are also a great place to find inspiration. Just go to your local bookstore or library, grab some magazines that catch your eye and flip through. The articles and pictures can really inspire you! I always get a ton of ideas from magazines.

Brain Dump: A brain dump is great when you are stuck on where to go with your business, blog or job. Just sit down and write down a ton of ideas or goals when it comes to the one area you are most uninspired. Then go through it and see what is actionable.

Talk to Friends and/or Family: When I am really stuck about something, I talk to my husband or call my best friends. They can usually come up with a solution or idea that I hadn’t even thought of.

Exercise: A walk or a good workout is a great way to help clear your head. Put your lack of inspiration aside for a bit and get your blood pumping! The drive home from the gym is when I usually come up with a ton of ideas.

Take a Class: Check out the local events section and see what free classes are available in your area. Your local library is usually a good place to start. There are also a ton of great resources online. I am obsessed with Creative Live. They have a ton of free classes available each week and the paid classes are very reasonable. Take an online photography or brush lettering class. Search around and see what sparks your interest. Simply trying something new can help you feel inspired.

What are some of your favorite ways to find inspiration?

These are great tips, and ones that I have used to get me inspired in the past. I haven’t been very inspired recently because I broke my ankle and it makes it really hard to create recipes for my blog and photograph them. So I have been focused on promoting instead. (Not as fun.)

These are such great tips! I agree with reading and talking to family and friends can make you feel inspired. But really, sometimes just taking a break from what you’re doing can bring that inspiration back.

Fantastic tips! I especially connected with your “brain dump” idea. I am so full of energy and ideas right now, I need to slow down and organize everything on paper so I can prioritize my actionable tasks. Thanks so much for this great suggestion!
