Halloween is right around the corner and these spooky pretzel bites are the perfect scary sweet treat. You can leave them in a bowl at a party or pack a few in your kids lunch mixed with regular pretzels for a fun surprise! These are very easy to make and, most importantly, they are delicious!
Every year, we throw a pumpkin carving party at my house, and it is a tradition I love! Our entire family comes over and all they have to bring is their own pumpkin. I always have tons of carving supplies, thanks to the day after Halloween sales from the year before. 😉 Some of the younger kids can’t carve their own pumpkins yet, so I always like to have a craft or candy treat they can help with. These spooky pretzel bites will be perfect since I know they will love mushing the candy corn onto the semi-melted chocolate!
All you need is pretzels, candy melts and your decoration of choice. I used colored chocolate melts to stick with the Halloween-theme. I decided to use candy corn as my topper, since we all know pretzels and candy corn are flavor soulmates. I spotted some adorable candy mummy’s and decided to grab them at the last minute, and I am so glad I did, since they gave the mix some variety.
Place the pretzels flat on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Place one candy melt on each pretzel. Put on the broiler and pop the pretzels in for 30 seconds to a minute. Once the tops of the candy melts looks shiny you are probably good to go. You don’t want to melt the chocolate fully. Take them out and work fast. Push a candy corn on top of each chocolate disc. (this is the perfect time to enlist some help from the kids!) Place them in the fridge to set and you are done! SO simple!
You can store these in the fridge, I put them in a covered plastic or glass container. They will stay fresh for at least a week, but they won’t last that long… these tend to go quick!
