August Family Favorites

So long summer, bring on all things pumpkin-flavored! September kicks off my favorite part of the year and it is also my birthday month! Our family had a wonderful August. We brought in the month with a weekend at the beach with family & friends, then celebrated Hudson’s birthday party and my husband and I even managed to enjoy a long weekend away ALONE! (so glorious) Now the kids are back to school and I am getting used to the early morning routine once again. So here’s a few things my family has been loving this month!

Lauren:
Milk Frother:
After my 5-day detox, I swore off flavored coffee creamer for good. I now use a big dollop of coconut oil with a splash of half & half. The oiliness of the coconut oil never really bothered me before. Then one day I made a coffee smoothie and was surprised by how much the oil frothed up. So I got a hand held milk frother and I am NEVER going back. I just put the oil, cream and a small amount of coffee in and froth it up! Then I pour in the rest of the coffee. (I figured out this was the best method only AFTER I frothed myself with nearly a entire cup of coffee) My son is now my official coffee frother and everyday this little contraption makes me feel like I have my own personal coffee shop.

Hudson:
Ocelot Jacket
My son spotted this jacket in the mall and immediately had to have it. But it was like $55 bucks there, so I went to Amazon, where I found it for $40. Still a crazy price to spend on a jacket but he would NOT stop talking about it and he did need a new jacket for back to school. Apparently, this is a character in Minecraft and he wears it ALL. THE. TIME. So much so that we got in a argument when I told him I had to wash it. Who knew a jacket could make a child so happy, but if he loves it.. then I love it.

He drew a very life-like self portrait for school!!

Mila:
Baby Stroller
Her grandma got her a new baby & stroller set for her house and Mila loved it so much that I got her one for our house after she rocked her dentist appointment. She walks this baby stroller around everywhere. We even let her bring it out one weekend when we went for dinner and ice cream and she was SO excited. (if you follow me on SnapChat of Instagram you totally saw her pushing it around the entire night)

Normally I share my husband’s favorite, but this month Donnie said he really couldn’t think of one. So he gets a pass. 😉 What is your family currently loving?

That frothier looks amazing! I think we have one, but I’ve never used it. Charlotte, my little girl, is all about her baby’s shopping cart. But right now she’s really into Shopkins and Daniel Tiger. Happy weekend, friend!

Great post! September is my birthday month too. Wahoo! Happy Birthday to you! Lately I have been obsessed with blending hot coffee, coconut oil, cinnamon, and a dash of almond milk. I love how frothy it gets! However, it is more cleanup. I am definitely going to purchase a milk frothing tool. Thanks for the info!

That sounds amazing! This is super easy to clean, just rinse under warm water and every few days I froth up soap in a cup to get it really clean, then rinse. 🙂
