How to Earn Cash for Your Kid’s School

How to Earn Cash For Your Kids School

Summer is almost over and we are ready to head back to school! The uniforms are ready, our school supplies have been purchased and I am already ahead of the game with my box tops thanks to Walmart! I have to admit, I have not been a very good box top collector in the past. I wasn’t sure what the program was all about and if it really made a difference for schools in my area. That all changed last year.

During a school event, the principal praised the parents for collecting box tops, adding that the money raised would help buy 4 new computers. 4 computers!! I was shocked! I approached the principal after the assembly and asked her if box tops normally brought in that much money. She said that actually the number had decreased this past year… and in previous years they had raised enough box top money to re-do the entire media center and another year they bought 9 computers for the classrooms! She said people don’t realize how much those tiny box tops can make a difference for schools with a tight budget.

That was a major wake up call for me…  and now I am a box top rockstar. Right now, Walmart is making it easier than ever with a special 5-for-1 box top deal featuring tons of your favorite products! Box Tops for Education makes it easy to give back to schools on your everyday purchases. Simply look for the Box Tops label when you shop General Mills products at Walmart. Your school will receive $.10 for every box top you clip and send! In addition to the $0.10 per Box Tops, you earn 4 more ($.50!)

I know how hard the teachers at my son’s school work, so if I can help them get the supplies they need by clipping a few box tops, then I am all for it! If you don’t think box tops make a difference at your kid’s school, check out BoxTops4Education.com. There you will find a detailed list of exactly how much money your school has raised each year.

So when you head to Walmart for school snacks and breakfast staples, look for the specially marked 5-for-1 box tops and kick off the year with a budget boost for your kid’s school!

We are a total box tops family. With 5 kids we plow through a lot of products that have box tops thankfully, but I have to admit I could be better. Thanks for the tip on Walmart. That is great!!

Me either!! After I spoke to the principal I was like, “She can’t be serious!” Then I looked up my son’s school online and it tells you exactly how much they get paid out each year!

Aw I love this! I just started seeing some of them in Canada but I don’t think most teachers here know about it. It’s definitely more of an American thing – but it’s such a wonderful idea. I hope it catches on here!

I never really thought it helped that much, until I spoke to the principal and then looked up exactly how much money my son’s school collected. It is nice that all the info is online for everyone to see. 🙂

Box Tops are such a great idea and something easy for parents to do to help the school. They could also do “wine corks for education”, I bet that would make a lot of money!;)

I love the Box Top program! Every penny adds up, literally! I feel like I am just throwing away money for my kid’s future school if I don’t turn them in! This also brought back memories of saving Campbell soup labels. My grandparents ate soup like crazy because it helped my schoo! hahaha!

I really didn’t realize how much money it can bring in! An extra 1 to 2 thousand a year makes a HUGE difference for schools on such a tight budget!

My kids school collects tops and we love to be able to find ways to help our school. My kids love to be able to see how much we can collect each month. I actually need to go check because I think we have a few tings that have some box tops! Thanks for the reminder.

If only they had box tops on organic stuff we hardly get anything with box tops, but I cut them out as a kid.

I know our schools earned a lot from saving, clipping & turning in box tops. Love the program.
