May flew by! My poor hubby is still dealing with eye issues from emergency surgery he had the last week of April. We also had Mother’s Day and a bunch of family members birthdays. I just felt crazy busy and I am ready for some summer fun! Here’s what my family has been loving this month.
Lauren
Latisse: Back in February I got my beloved eyelash extensions off because my lash lady moved and it got to be too inconvenient to keep up with my appointments. I was super sad, not to mention my eyes looked like a hairless cat. The worst part about having lash extensions is when you get them off you literally feel like you have NO eyelashes. This is for two reasons… your lashes are a bit thinner and weaker (I compare it to your real nails when you get acrylics off). Also, you get used to having these long dark lashes, and it’s a stark difference when they are gone! (you kind of forget what real lashes look like) Anyway, I have had extensions before and the last time I used Latisse and it worked great, so I got some again through my dermatologist. This stuff is amazing. After 2 months or so, your lashes will be long and thick. But don’t use the brushes that come with it. They suck because they absorb too much product. (and this stuff is pricey!) I would get so mad since I would have to use 3 drops per eye, because it would absorb into the thick bristles and nothing would get on my eyelid. I’m onto you Latisse people.. I know you just want to take more of my money! Now I use this brush to apply it and you will only need one drop to line both eyes.

Amazon Prime: Since my sweet husband had to spend a few weeks mostly lying on one side and sitting on the couch, he has been obsessed with the all the free shows and movies he was able to get through amazon video because of our prime membership. He probably watched every free movie that was available and he said there was a lot of good ones.
Hudson:
StikBots: I had never heard of these things, but Hudson was talking about them for awhile and when he saved up enough money to get one he STALKED me until I took him to Toys R’ Us. You can play with these figures by themselves, but there is also an app that allows you to create stop motion movies. My son has even created a few and he thinks the whole thing is so much fun.
Mila:
Mermaid ANYTHING: Mila is currently obsessed with mermaids. She has a growing collection of mermaid Barbies and dolls. She brings them in the bathtub and crosses her legs like a fin while splashing on the steps in the pool. I used to do the same thing when I was a little girl, so it seems that mermaid dreams are timeless.

We love our Amazon Prime. Fun May Favorites. I’ve never used Latisse. But, sure could use some full eyelashes.

Latisse.. I will be asking about it at my next Derm appt. My left eye is finally opening, but the lashes on that side are thin and sparse. Not. Ok. Great tip with about the brush!
Yes they totally try to take all your money with the brushes that come with it!
I’ve really been wanting to try out Latisse! Do you normally have sensitivity to new products? My girls are really into mermaids too:)
My eyes are not too sensitive, but the last time I used it I did have to stop after a few months since I noticed my eyelid looked red. But I havent had any issues this go round and I love the results so much I was willing to risk it! ha!
I love these little updates. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and reflect on everything going on in life and savor the sweet little things you see around you.
And you should share some of your son’s videos! I love watching stuff like that 🙂

We have a mermaid obsession too…which also includes t-shirts that say anything from Off-duty mermaid and mermaids don’t wear pants so I don’t either…hahahah!

How gorgeous, I love the idea of a family post! My daughter is currently obsessed with Horses, it’s so funny how they go through these stages of loving one particular thing. Your son sounds like a champ, saving up, good work.

YES! It is amazing! It is pricey but totally worth it and with the right brush it will last a long time!

I have only had fake eyelashes once… I was sooo sad to take them off. Maybe I will have to try that out!

It takes at least a month before you notice a difference but then you are like, BOOM.. long lashes! I am obsessed!

a hairless cat. BAHA i love you. In the past year, I have become allergic to EVERY mascara on the planet. NO JOKE. I woke up one day and POOF- I cannot wear ANY mascara. My eyes become so read, it’s honestly scary. I’ve tried almost every allergen-free mascara you can imagine. I finally went and got the eyelash extensions– AND OMG I LOVE THEM! I’d be interested to see if I’d have the same reaction to Latisse as I am having with mascara. I have this black tea one that I found recently– but who freakin’ knows. SO WEIRD. You should do a before and after of your lashes with Latisse! I’d love to see it!!
