So long, October! This month was fun, but also crazy busy & stressful for me… so I am excited for a fresh start with November!
I have been really trying to get better with
weeknight meal planning and the crock pot has been my bestie lately. My
husband gets home from work before me, so it is tough for him to try and
plan, prep and cook a dinner… with 2 kids running around. So we try
to work together to prepare what we can ahead of time, in order to
simplify what he has to do when he gets home. Ideally, we like a dinner
that he can just pop in the oven or saute quickly… since he also has
to make sure my son gets his homework done. The crock pot has been
making our lives so much easier! (I’ll be sharing a few of my favorite uses for the crock pot soon!)
Let me start by saying we got this bed in exchange for some sponsored posts I did for Sealy a few months back. However, I was not obligated to write about the bed at all. My husband was pretty hesitant about me accepting a bed as payment, since he didn’t like that fact that we wouldn’t even get to try it out. Well, fast forward 2 months and we are OBSESSED with this bed. I had no idea how CRAPPY our last bed was. We are both sleeping so much better and my lower back pain has been reduced. I know people always say that you should invest in a good bed (blah, blah) but seriously, it has made such a difference.

This is not my actual bed, but it is a pretty picture of the type of bed I got. Thank you, SEALY! |
Hudson:
Apples to Apples
Hudson got this for his birthday and we have so much fun playing it as a family! If you have never played, here is a good explainer. We always have the players explain to the ‘judge’ the reasoning for their word choice. It is SO funny to hear the explanations, especially when the cards they are dealt really has nothing to do with the adjective. This game is meant for more players, but we still have a lot of fun with just our family.
Mila:
Light Up Frozen Sneakers
I bought Mila a pair of light up Frozen sneakers from Walmart a few months back. Needless to say she LOVES them. She wears them every single day and they have been looking pretty rough lately, but every time I went back to Walmart they would be sold out of her size. I ordered a pair online, but in the meantime, her current pair got a big hole in the toe so she couldn’t wear them. So when her new pair came in… OH MY GOODNESS. You would think I gave the child sneakers made of gold. She was so freaking excited, and all month she was happy about her NEW Frozen shoes.

She is OBSESSED with these shoes! |
There are just a few things that made this busy and crazy month easier for us. I am so happy since November and December are my two most favorite months of the year! What are some items your family is loving right now?
I love my crockpot…especially this time of year!!! And our family also loves Apples to Apples!!!
Betty Crocker has some AMAZING and easy crockpot recipes. I got the newlywed version of this book when we got married and use it almost every day. http://www.bettycrocker.com/Home/The-Betty-Crocker-Cookbook. They also have 20-minute recipes in there as well.
I need to bring my crockpot out again. I also need a new mattress so I have mattress jealousy right now. 🙂
Looks like a fun October for your family! I love the crockpot, especially in the winter months, and need to find some new recipes. Can't wait to see what you post!
Your daughter sounds a lot like mine! She gets so obsessed with something and her entire world revolves around it. Glad she got her new shoes.
That bed looks nice! I have bad back issues, I bet a wonderful bed like that would be good for me! And we love Apple to Apples in our family too! It is one of my personal favorites!
We LOVE Apples to Apples!! I have to say, though, that you definitely need to keep that game updated. We had an older version and when we tried to play with our kiddo, it was totally outdated. It's worth it to get the newest version or the Junior version or whatever. Such a fun game!
Omg I'm crock pot obsessed this time of year! Nothing better than a super simple meal when you're so busy that actually taste good! And that bed…. Ahhhh… Kinda jealous! Our mattress sucks but it's one of those things we keep pushing back to buy.
Yes, the crockpot has saved me so much time during those busy days! Looking forward to seeing some of the recipes that have worked for you.
