Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat- Influenster VOXBOX Review

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer & Blur Perfector

I was so excited when I found out I was selected to receive the YSL Voxbox from Influenster.  I was also a little surprised, since I know this is a VERY popular and coveted box… so I assumed it only went to beauty & fashion bloggers. I almost didn’t believe it until that little black box showed up at my door!

In my box was the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer & the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector. I have always been a HUGE fan of the Touche Eclat Radiant Touch pens, since I have bad dark undereye circles and this was one of the first highlighters that helped to really cover them.

First, I tried the Blur Primer, which has tiny gold specks in it. (don’t worry… they don’t show up on your skin) I have never really worn a primer (except for weddings and fancy nights out… which are few & far between these days) I usually just use sunscreen under my foundation. However, since it is summer, I have been wearing a BB Cream that already has sunscreen in it, so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try the primer underneath. Well, now I use it every single day and I love it. It has the same silicone-type feel as other primers but it has something extra in it that makes my skin feel SO soft.

After I did my makeup, I tried the second product they sent me… the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector. It comes in the most beautiful compact! It is pale pink and gold and it makes me feel super fancy. However, I was a little confused about the product itself. It is a balm that transforms into a powder finish. It can be used alone, over makeup to set it or you can use it throughout the day for touch-ups and to get rid of shine. That’s A LOT of options for a girl who is fairly clueless about makeup.

I decided to use it over my makeup. It comes with a super-soft sponge that you should NOT USE! Hear me out, since it is a balm at first… when you use the sponge it kind of wipes off your makeup, which is NOT the look I am going for. I used it under my eyes and it totally smudged and screwed up my layers of undereye concealer. But it did make my skin look really nice.. it gives you a nice soft focus finish.. like a good Instagram filter, but in real life! That is the ONLY reason I tried it again and I am glad I did. But there is a trick.. if you are using this over makeup, apply it with your fingertips. Just rub your fingers in the balm.. and kind of pat it onto your face over your makeup until it becomes powdery. If sounds like a lot of work, but it takes two seconds and makes your skin look SO pretty. (you can use the sponge when you are using it over your bare skin, which gives you the same pretty finish)

Since using this I have been getting so many compliments. My best friend even texted me after I posted a picture of me at work (holding a lemur… say what!) asking me how I was doing my makeup different and that it looked so good.

Thank you to Influenster for letting a regular mommy blogger like me try out these awesome products for free! They are both fantastic products, but if you can only choose one (let’s be honest here… these are pricey items) I would say the Blur Perfector is totally worth the splurge. It is really unlike any product I have used before.

How exciting you got to try these out! They both sound awesome, but I think I would go for the Perfector first. Sounds like it could help me out a bit. 🙂

I got one too. I love the primer but am still unsure about the other product. It's such a weird texture to me ha! Maybe I'm just a little challenged in the makeup department!

Even the packaging is pretty! I use very little makeup so when I do, I'm willing to go for the higher end items like these. Very nice.
