I loved May. I had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend, which was a mix of time to myself and a fun brunch with family. This month I got to eat lunch at school with Hudson one day and Donnie & I also surprised him at his end of the year party. I also made a commitment to start reading more and I am really enjoying my Kindle again.
So now to our family favorites!
Lauren:
Bike Trailer
Donnie and the kids got me a bike trailer for Mother’s Day and I LOVE it! It can hold up to 100 pounds, so technically both my kids can ride in it at once, but it is a workout! Mostly, I just put Mila in it, then the rest of the family rides their own bikes. I love being able to ride to grab coffee in the morning with the kids when my husband goes to the gym. I can also ride Hudson to school now, but he has been running so late that we haven’t had a chance to actually do it yet.
Family Favorite Bonus: LiketoKnow.it: This technically isn’t a item, but I am OBSESSED with LiketoKnow.it. It is a problem. Basically fashion and beauty bloggers sign up on the LiketoKnow.it website… so when I ‘like’ their Instagram picture I automatically get a email that shows me what they are wearing and where it is from. (I had to register on the site, too) I am a serial clothes stalker… and I have no problem asking people where they got something then going right off and buying it… so this is amazing to me. You can find bloggers who use it easily by searching the hashtag #liketkit.

Our Grill
We have been enjoying dinner outside when we can, since the weather has been so nice. My hubby has been taking to the grill more often, so he figured that was his family favorite for the month. I love when he grills me portabella mushrooms with olive oil and balsamic, and our goal is to try grilled corn and grilled pizza!
Hudson:
Fishing
My sweet boy has been fishing almost every single night. When we decided we were going to start going on the boat more often, I bought a $10 fishing pole from Wal-Mart. We have been having so much fun fishing that I bought another one. We mostly catch only small fish, but we have caught a catfish (twice) and a few oscars and small bass. Our next door neighbors walk over now every time they see us fishing and they all take turns. We are all kind of obsessed with it, but Hudson definitely is into it the most.
Mila:
Little Tykes Slide
This originally belonged to my nephews but we snatched it out of their garage a few months back, since they are older now. Mila has enjoyed it for awhile now, but since we are on a big fishing kick.. she has really been using it a LOT. She doesn’t just slide though.. she slides backwards, uses it as a lounge chair, jumps off it and stands on top of it to scream the song “Let It Go” loud enough to echo off the lake. You’re welcome, neighbors.

That was the FIRST and LAST time they were both allowed on it at once.Unless I am doing it to replace the gym.. it was hard!! haha!

I could totally go for another Mother's day brunch! Guess I will have to find an equally delicious Father's Day one! How fun that you got to have lunch at school with your kiddos! I have also made a commitment to do more reading this summer. I already have one book down!

We've used bike trailers for the boys too, then after that they got a tag-a-long to ride safetly behind daddy. Our trail rides are 8, 10, 14 miles long so there's no way a kid could keep up!
I need to get one of those bike trailers!! and new bikes too, we gave ours away, since we haven't used them for a couple of years. But I would love to start biking again.
NEED that bike trailer, it's on my must-get list for the summer!
I am so jealous of your bike trailer! I'll have to put that on my wish list 🙂 I never knew you could make pizza on the grill (going to have to try it)! Love those photos of your son fishing. I just watch my kids with wonderment as I see my kids' interests unfold. It must be so cool to see him so into this!
