The 'Other' Berger

Have you ever met someone with your same name? Well, it turns out there is a woman out there with my exact same name, and people confuse me with her all the time. The ‘Other Berger’ is known as the ‘Intern Queen’ and she has made quite a name for herself.

After completing 15 interships, she created Intern Queen Inc. in 2009. The site helps students find interships across the country, for free. She is also a author and does other fantastic things.

One of my bosses even admitted to me that after learning I had been hired, he googled me… and thought I was her. Recently, I noticed I had been getting tagged on my personal twitter by people thinking they were tagging the ‘Intern Queen.’ Unfortunately for her, she got on the twitter bandwagon a bit too late to snag @laurenberger… that belongs to yours truly.  However, @Internqueen has a commendable following of more than 35k, which goes to show you that slow and steady does not ALWAYS win the race.

I decided to tweet back the people who gave the wrong Berger a shout out, including the Intern Queen in my tweets. And guess what.. she tweeted me back!

We corresponded with a few emails, she pitched some satellite interviews she had going on and that was that. It was nice to FINALLY speak with the woman I have been asked about so many times.

She was in town last week doing some appearances, and my friend Johnanna Gomez tweeted me since she was interviewing her. The ‘Other Berger’ is never too far away!

Do you have a name twin out there?

A name twin for me would be highly unlikely! But, I actually had someone track me down on FB once to ask me if I knew what my name meant (like the origin, etc).. They were going to name their daughter Chanity but wanted a little more information if I had any. Crazy!

I don't have a name twin that i know of, my name is rare i guess. I think is funny how people confused you with someone else. It's a great conversation starter though.

When I was in high school, I had a look a like twin. We drove the same car, wore the same glasses, people always saw me driving places I never was etc… Not quite the same, but that's the closes I've got.

Hilarious! I totally noticed the other LB account recently. I always used the handle @aubreyanne but was late to the instagram party, so it was already taken, but people tag me as that ALL THE TIME..so I often wonder if the girl who does use it gets annoyed by being tagged as me!! haha

Nope. But in all fairness. I'd probably fall over and die from shock if I ever met another Cajun McJilton. It's like I went out looking for a man to marry with a weider last name than my first name. LOL

Love this! Also, I have that "L" mug (for Louisa). I used to have a name twin before I took my husband's last name. And my name is not that common. The "other Louisa" is (or at least was) a librarian at MIT. So, probably a lot smarter than I am! ๐Ÿ˜‰

How awesome! You two even kind of look alike. I couple a maiden name twins (Farrah Green), but I'm pretty sure I'm the only Farrah Udell (for better or worse when anyone Googles me!). I think of the Greens was an equestrian, and someone out there was always trying to get my farrahg handles on different accounts. I was first on AOL! Ha ๐Ÿ˜‰

I never had a name twin.. my last name was rare I guess, and I actually wished I had a name twin because if you Googled me with my maiden name, you found wayyy more information about me than I'd want the internet to know. It was pretty creepy. lol Thankfully, I'm married now and my last name is super common and it's a city so I'm a little less creeped out. lol As for my bloggy name, Alexis Krystina, I think I have a few twins out there but I was lucky enough to get all the social media handles–except for facebook–I had to add a 1 at the end of that one lol

How neat that you two got to meet! That's awesome.

I do have a name twin. A couple in my city as a matter of fact. One of them is my ex-sister-in-law. So now I'm the only Jennifer Bly in the family.

Thanks for sharing and for linking up to the #SHINEbloghop.

    Wishing you a lovely weekend.

So I thought I would Google my name to find out if I had a name twin. I didn't find one, but I did find a Google+ message from my birth mom JANUARY 2013. My bad. Thanks for bringing that to my attention with this cute, little post of yours. While the other LB is quite adorable, let's be honest, there is only ONE Lauren Magic.
