Weekend Breakfast Surprises

I always feel like the workweek is so rushed. Rushing to get everyone ready, for work… for school. Checking homework, packing lunches, making bottles. Rushing home, making dinner, baths, books, bed. You get it.

But on the weekend, everything slows down. We all get to take a breath & take our time with things. Which is why I love making breakfast special on the weekends.
Here are some of my favorite weekend breakfast treats!
                         nutella croissants

Nutella croissants: all you need is crescent rolls & Nutella. Also, powdered sugar… If you feel like getting fancy!
                         Pancake Art

Pancake art: Microwave up some pancakes. (Or make them yourself, if you are one of those crazy people who like to actually cook things) Use icing, raisins, whatever you have on hand! We’ve done spaceship pancakes, Angry Bird pancakes… be creative!
                          Applesauce Sundae

Yogurt or applesauce sundae: Grab a container of yogurt or applesauce and pile it high with your favorite fruit. Finish with some sprinkles and you’re done!

Finally, never underestimate the power of SPRINKLES!  I will top off Hudson’s cream of wheat with a few star sprinkles and you would think I handed him a freaking pot of gold. Just a little something to kick off your weekend right!

Here are some other creative breakfast ideas I found on Pinterest!

I love this Lucky Charm Banana pops from SassyDealz.com! My kids would love these!

Check out this adorable egg bunny from Margaret Wirtes.

Here’s another easy one from Edible Life in NYC. These ‘sushi’ rolls could be made so many different ways!

What are your favorite ‘special’ breakfast ideas? I am always looking for more!

Not a fan of Nutella, but I like the idea of filling the Pillsbury crescent rolls w/something like that. I've done the same thing, but with chocolate chips. Yum!

Chocolate Chips sound delicious!! Yes the crescent rolls bake up really quick, which makes it easy to throw together!

We are totally on the same page, I always do something special on Saturday mornings. But I'm the crazy one that makes homemade buttermilk pancakes…sorry! I am totally stealing the bunny pancakes for Easter Sunday and the Nutella croissants for sure! Great post…
