Rockin’ his new swim outfit |
Since it’s my son’s first year at a real school (not year-round daycare) this is our first official family Spring Break. It’s nothing like the spring break we had in college, but it will still involve a lot of drinking. (at least for me)
My hubby & I are super excited since we took the entire week off. We were planning a vacation, but when it came time to book it we realized we were both dreading the idea of going away with a 1 year old. She’s just so little, and she runs all over the place, so taking her out and about just isn’t enjoyable. Lets be honest here.
We agreed that staying home is best, and we have a ton of fun stuff planned for the week. But since we aren’t actually going away, I wanted to get Hudson a little “Spring Break Kit” to start his week off with some fun & excitement.
I made him a little gift bag with some new swim trunks, a SPF shirt, and some outdoor stuff from the dollar bin at Target. When he got home from school on Thursday (since that is when his break officially started) it was waiting for him on his bed with a little note.
I wanted to also make him cute little ‘coupons’ so he could turn them for the activity he wanted to do that day. (beach, museum, movies… things like that) I didn’t have time to make them, but I still think it is a good idea. (for moms with better time management skills!)
Overall, the ‘kit’ was a hit & I think it will be a Spring Break tradition.
Yeah! Enjoy your time with your kiddos! I'm sure you guys are going to have tons of fun!!
Thank you!! I think this will be the most exhausting week off ever.. 😉
my little guy's name is hudson too! we just endured spring break and i like to stay home during it – in arizona, it's too nice to leave. plus, we have spring training! like the kit idea too starts it off right!
Yes, its easier to stay home when we are lucky enough to live in places people go to vacation! 😉
