Best Homemade Slime Recipe

Have you ever seen that slime at the store? My son loves it, but it is kind of pricey and I don’t like keeping it for more than one or two uses, since it gets pretty gross. So I decided to make our own slime, and after trying out a few different recipes from the internet, I have to say this is the best one. (I got it from EvanTube, a You Tube channel that my son is obsessed with) You have to watch the video to get the recipe, so I wrote it out for you to make your life easier. The kids have a blast making this stuff!

You will need:

  • 2 bowls
  • 1 regular-sized container of clear or white glue (5oz.)
  • Borax Laundry Booster
  • Food coloring
  • Water

Directions:

  1. Take 1 teaspoon Borax and pour it into a bowl with 1 cup of water, mix it up
  2. In a SEPARATE bowl pour out the entire container of glue and mix it with 1/2 cup of water
  3. If you want your slime to have color, add 5 or 6 drops of food coloring to the GLUE mixture and mix it in
  4. Pour the Borax mixture into the bowl with the glue mixture and start mixing it up
  5. It will start to clump up, then you should start kneading it with your hands
  6. There will be some extra water left behind, just pour it out and its SLIME TIME!

At first, it will be kind of crumbly and weird, but once you play with it for a little bit and start stretching it out it will feel just like the ooze you get at the store.

On EvanTube they say you can use white or clear glue, but every time we have made it with the white it doesn’t turn out as good and for some reason it makes less slime, too. I only use the clear glue now. When you’re done you can save the slime in a ziplock bag and it will stay good for awhile. Have fun!

I think its because I used the clear glue.. the white glue just never takes the color well! Have a wonderful day!!
