I have never been a ‘girly-girl.’ I have never been good with makeup. My hair looks the same every single day. My wardrobe consists of black, grey, and navy. I rarely wear colors, and I don’t think I have ever purchased anything pink. That is until I had a girl.

Don’t judge me. |
I always wanted a little girl, but I thought when I had one that I would be different. My daughter would wear hip, cool, non-pink clothes. (a la Kim Kardashian and the way she dresses North) She would have gender-neutral toys and learn to play soccer.
It started slowly, when I was pregnant. I would see a super flowery infant dress, but resist the urge to buy it. But once she got here it was all over. Somehow having a daughter turned me into a girl.
Now I am a ‘fan’ of Facebook pages titled “Ruffle Butts” and “StellyBelly.” Mila’s closet if FULL of frilly dresses and bows. But this stuff is EXPENSIVE, and spending big bucks on something that my daughter will wear once or twice just doesn’t fly with me. But there are some great places to get cute stuff for cheap.
- The Hair Bow Company: I wish I had found this website sooner. The Hair Bow company has a huge selection of bows, headbands, rompers, tutus, and more. The stuff is REALLY affordable and shipping starts at $4.99. I have loved everything I have ever ordered from them. I mainly order hair accessories, but I have been known to throw in a $3.50 tutu every now and again. Be sure to follow them on Facebook for deals and details on new arrivals.
A SMALL sampling of my Hair Bow Company purchases! - Always Under Pay: This site has tons of lace rompers, dresses, blankets, baby shoes, and much more. Everything is super cheap, but shipping can be a little pricey (starting at $6.95, which is annoying if you are buying a $1.00 hair bow and $2.50 pair of shoes) However, they often have promo codes on their Facebook page, and they had some amazing deals during the holidays.
- Crazy 8: This place has cute stuff most of the time, and when they have a sale you can really clean up! My favorites are their rompers and adorable skirts that have bloomers built-in. Sign up for email updates, and you will always know when there’s a sale. (I usually don’t buy from them unless there is free shipping without a minimum order amount, it is offered often enough)
- Zulily: Zulily is a daily deal site for moms, babies, and kids. They have a really good app, which makes it (too) easy to click and buy things right from your phone. (in case anyone was wondering what I really do in the morning news meeting) To be totally honest, there are very few real DEALS here. If it is a major brand (Razor scooters, Stellybelly, etc.) you can almost always find the same item online for a similar price. However, they do have some brands you can’t find elsewhere, and for a good price. So if you are sick of showing up to a birthday party to find 5 kids in the same Carter’s dress as your little one, then this is a good place to find something different.
