Beachy Baby Shower

This weekend I helped throw a baby shower for one of my very best friends and I just wanted to share it with you guys, since I think it turned out really cute! It is Natalie’s first baby and I am SO SO excited for her! (Now she will finally ‘get it’ haha!)

She is having a boy and her nursery is a beachy theme, so Jen (the other friend hosting it with me) & I decided to carry that through the shower.

Message in a Bottle: Jen found this on Pinterest and everyone thought it was really fun & creative. The ladies got to leave a little message for baby boy to read later! Jen got all the supplies at Michael’s craft store.

Candy Bar: Everyone loves a candy bar! This was the first time I ordered the candy through Amazon, and I was really happy with the way everything turned out.

Rice Krispie Treats in Sand: Jen made these and they were a big hit! She bought the rice krispie treats already made, then cut them in half and popped in the lollipop sticks. She melted white chocolate, sprinkled them with blue sprinkles and that’s it! The “sand” was just graham crackers, which they apparently sell already crushed up in a box. I never knew this and when Jen showed me it blew my mind.

Diaper Cake: I have never made a diaper cake before, and I think it turned out great! However, I made these with size 1 diapers… and I later read that you should use size 2 or 3 since by the time the mom takes apart the cake, the baby has usually already grown out of the smaller sizes! Doh! Anyway, I got all the nautical details from Hobby Lobby.

Natalie’s mother-in-law is a florist, and she totally ROCKED the flowers! She brought tons of beautiful arrangements, all done up in a beach theme!

She got tons of stuff from her registry, which was awesome! I was really excited to finally give Natalie her WiFi Baby monitor, and she was THRILLED! Everyone at the shower was checking it out, and my other friend who is also pregnant totally wants one now!

I also gave her some awesome products from Cariloha Bamboo. They were kind enough to send me a swaddle blanket set & crib sheet. All their stuff is made with bamboo! According to the website, “bamboo is 3 degrees cooler than cotton and wicks moisture away from your body. It even helps repel odors and allergens.” That all sounds perfect for a new little baby! Check out the process showing how bamboo becomes fabric… pretty cool!

Overall, I would say the shower was a success! Now I just have to try and be patient until I can meet her sweet little boy! I am so excited!
