I'm a sucker

My
husband teases me all the time,  “Man, our kids really know how to scam
you.” or “You are such a sucker.” My son never asks my husband for an
extra book at bedtime, or for 5 (or 10) more minutes of ‘snuggle time’
before leaving the room. When he occasionally comes into our room in the
middle of the night, because he has a tummyache or heard a noise, he
walks right over to my side of the bed.

Sure, we can read one more book…
When Mila wakes up at 3am,
she knows that if it’s mommy who walks in, all she has to do is put her
hands in the air… I immediately scoop her up in my arms. She can count on me to rock her back to sleep.

Sure, you can come in Momma’s bed…
Life moves fast people! My son is 5 years old. How much longer do you think he is going to beg for extra cuddles, or just one more book, or to hold his hand and walk him all the way up to school? (“No roundabout today, Momma. Let’s walk together.”) How much longer am I going to be able to cradle my sweet girl in my arms? How much longer will peek-a-boo make her laugh? We all know the answer.
So call me a sucker if you want. I’m okay with that.

I am totally with you on this! I have a daughter of my own and two step children and all 3 of them come to me for everything and I seriously wouldn't have it any other way because before long they will be embarrassed to be seen with us!

Special moments, my son could always tell my footsteps sound outside his room . I could never sneak past him.
