December Family Favorites

The New Year brings lots of changes, but one thing that is NOT going away, is my monthly family favorites post! We had lots to choose from in December, thanks to the holidays. So here is what my sweet family is loving right now!

Lauren:
Snowman Bracelet
Hudson made me a snowman bracelet in school and it is the best gift I got this Christmas. It is the first gift he ever got me that I could actually wear. (Turns out, those necklaces made with yarn and noodles are NOT very durable… who knew?) What made me love it even more is how he explained to me how he made it. Everyone got to make a bracelet in his class, they were given a cup full of beads in the color scheme they chose. But Hudson explained to me how he wanted my bracelet to be perfect so he took time to make sure to repeat the same pattern throughout the entire thing. He also said that he chose the snowman theme instead of the candy cane theme since he knows how I don’t like things too colorful. LOVE HIM!!!!

He also made Donnie a super cute picture frame!

Donnie
TiVo
We have had our TiVo forever! People used to ask us what it did and how it recorded TV shows! HA! Now many people have DVR’s and TiVo is not as special. But it is still special to us, and definitely to my husband come the month of December. In addition to his usual recordings of College Game Day and every single show on Nova and PBS… he records all the best movies from ABC Family’s Christmas movie line-up! My must watch movies are Scrooged and Elf. Prep and Landing is his favorite and the kids really enjoyed it this year as well. He recorded Home Alone and Home Alone 2 and they were a HUGE hit. It was Hudson’s first time seeing the movies and he was laughing SO HARD. He talked about them for days.

LOVE this movie!

Hudson:
Razor E90 Electric Scooter
This was an easy one. He had been asking for one of these FOREVER. It was an impulsive Black Friday purchase that my husband and I went back and forth about. We were worried that he was too young for it, but in the end… we decided to give it to him. To say that he loves it is an understatement. He is only allowed to ride it with one of us there, and right now he can only use it to go around the cul-de-sac since we aren’t confident of his reaction time to let him go down the street. He could go around that circle for days and be happy.

How many times can he ride in a circle… A LOT!

Mila:
Disney Doc McStuffins Doctor’s Bag
I can’t even begin to tell you how many checkups I have had in the past week. Given to me by Doc McMila. She is obsessed with this little kit. Like any good doctor she explains what she is doing. “Checkup?” “Mima (that’s how she says her name) check heart” “Now eyes” (then she gouges my eyes out with a little contraption) Then it’s “medicine” time and she shoves a little plastic syringe in my mouth that I know has been shoved in every other family members mouth as well. (but if I say no, she grabs my chin and forced my mouth open! ha!) My prognosis is ALWAYS the same. “You sick.” Despite being ‘sick’ every time… I enjoy each checkup by my sweet girl. It is the cutest. I have tried to get a video of the whole thing but my sassy girl refuses to be filmed.

How cute is she?

What are some things your family is loving right now? Any favorite or stand-out toys from the holidays? Mila’s birthday is around the corner so I am looking for gift ideas… again.

First of all, that bracelet is soooo nice!!!! I loved it already, but the fact he wanted it to be perfect just for you melts my heart! What a total sweetheart. I think doctor kits for kids are such good toys (it's a favourite in our household too). I think it makes the doc's office less intimidating. Home Alone was a HUGE hit in our household too. Too bad we didn't DVR it as you guys did, because my daughter is still asking to watch it :/
