Why You Should Be Massaging Your Face

This post contains affiliate links

I am currently obsessed with a face massager. And if you have never tried one, then you need to get on it. I first heard about face massaging from Lauryn over at The Skinny Confidential. She talks about lymphatic drainage facials a lot but one day she was using some sort of crazy device that was attached to a Clarisonic and I was super intrigued. It turns out Clarisonic released a firming massage head.

A did a little research and discovered that facial massage is supposed to help prevent wrinkles and boost collagen. I love trying new skincare products so I decided to shell out the $54 and buy one. They tell you online that this massage head only fits the newest model of the Clarisonic, but that sounded fishy to me since they all use the same brush heads. So I took a risk and bought one and GUESS WHAT?! It fits my old school Clarisonic perfectly!

I have been using it for months and my fine lines and wrinkles are less noticeable and my skin definitely looks nicer. After doing the facial massage, my skin is flush and tingly so I figure that must be a good thing since it is getting the blood flowing. I don’t know if this will prevent aging or not, but I am definitely a fan and will continue using it.

If you don’t have a Clarisonic, I found some cheaper options on Amazon with good reviews: (these are affiliate links)

  • 3D Facial Roller
  • Facial Massager

I do the massage at night, after washing my face. I have tried both my regular moisturizer and facial oils, and I have found the oil works best. I like this argan oil and this sea berry oil. You are supposed to start at the bottom of your face and work outwards. There is a great explainer, along with some really helpful videos, on the Clarisonic website.

So if you aren’t massaging your face, you need to start. You will thank me. Also, this post isn’t sponsored and I totally paid for everything myself, I am just sharing this because I genuinely LOVE it and I think you will too. 🙂

They try to say it only works for select models, which makes zero sense since they all use the same cleaning heads! I love it and now I saw they came out with a eye massing one and I want that too! ha!

Oh my goodness! I never knew that massaging your face could prevent wrinkles. I’m sharing this post with two of my closest friends who have also been concerned about this very issue.

I’ve been massaging just with my fingers, do you think that has the same effect?
