Thank you Moose Toys for sponsoring this post. Get crafty with your kiddo and make “ooniements” with Oonies by Moose Toys this holiday season!
There are so many new toys out there, it can be hard to keep up. My kids have been asking for Oonies ever since they saw the commercial so I was excited to get to try them out. My kids legit FREAKED out when they saw the box. I was a little confused by what Oonies actually did and how they worked, but I have to say it is a pretty awesome toy.
Oonies start as sticky pellets and turn into small balls with the special inflator. You can make small, medium or large sized balls and they all stick to each other. You have to read the directions carefully, since there are a few steps when it comes to putting the pellet into the machine and inflating it. However, both my kids were able to remember the steps once I went over it with them and showed them how to do it. My daughter (who is 4) had a hard time closing the little ball around the Oonie pellet, but the rest she could do all by herself. (now her brother sets up the pellet for her) We quickly learned that you shouldn’t over-inflate the Oonie, since it can pop!
The starter kit comes with tons of fun add-ons, like eyeballs, fins and little faces. You can switch everything around and create a number of different Oonie characters! My kids made a bunch of “Oonie-ments” and were so excited to place their original creations on the tree. My son made a sword, robots, snowflakes and so much more. My daughter was obsessed with the little add-ons and creating Oonie friends.
We also got a refill kit, which had a lot of different colors that were not in the starter kit. I have since bought yet another refill kit, since my kids have been playing with this toy A LOT. They show it to everyone who comes over and people are always impressed. It is a strange little toy, not gonna lie, but kids seem to have some serious fun while playing and haven’t gotten sick of it yet. My kids love them & I like that they are easy to play with and aren’t messy at all. I am definitely going to be getting more Oonie kits to give as gifts.
